Kitten care
Every kitten is unique, and each family’s needs are different – so our approach to caring for kittens is flexible and tailored.

Every kitten is unique, and each family’s needs are different – so our approach to caring for kittens is flexible and tailored.
We offer every kitten a full course of vaccinations and microchipping, plus we recommend monthly visits for a treat and weigh-in, helping build positive associations with the vet early.
Our approach to parasite treatments is based on your kitten’s individual needs, not a one-size-fits-all plan.
With WhatsApp support, your clinical team is never more than a message away. No question is too small or too silly, we’re always happy to help.
Warmer months especially bring a higher risk of fleas, ticks, and other parasites, so it’s a good idea to think about your kitten’s protection. Preventive care is safer, easier, and more comfortable for your pet than treating an infestation later on. For many pets, flea & worming treatments form an essential part of routine healthcare.
Help your new kitten thrive with regular check-ups from one of our qualified vet nurses. We recommend monthly visits until your kitten is six months old to support their healthy growth and development.
Keeping your kitten’s vaccinations up to date is essential for their health and helps protect other pets in the community.
Starting from four months of age, we offer spaying and neutering procedures to help prevent unwanted litters. These routine, safe surgeries also provide health benefits and can reduce certain behavioural issues, supporting your kitten’s long-term wellbeing.
We recommend having your kitten microchipped before it is old enough to start going out. A microchip is roughly the size of a grain of rice and is inserted between the shoulder blades. If your pet gets lost at any time during their life, the microchip can be read by veterinary practices and rehoming centres so you and your pet can be reunited.
A good quality complete diet designed to meet the nutritional needs of kittens, supporting development and growth is ideal. The first few months of a kitten’s life are crucial to their growth and development, which is why it’s essential they receive the right diet. When choosing food, make sure it is specifically formulated for kittens, as they require additional calories and nutrients. If you’re unsure which diet to choose or have any questions, we’re always happy to recommend suitable options.
We recommend bringing your kitten in from 8 weeks of age to be vaccinated for RCP/FeLV (viral rhinotracheitis, feline calicivirus, feline panleukopenia, and feline leukaemia virus). They will need to return 3–4 weeks later for their second vaccination.
This depends on your kitten’s size and breed. The food you choose should have a feeding guide on the packaging to help you determine the correct amount. If you’re unsure, you can always send us a message, and we’d be happy to discuss it over whatsapp.
If you plan to let your kitten outside, we recommend waiting until they are fully vaccinated and neutered.
If you notice fleas, please book an appointment with our vet. We will carefully check and weigh your kitten, and can provide an appropriate treatment.
